Pondering Gold in Dungeon Marauders
Old Gold being gold that you win off of an opponent. It was already in the game economy, it just changed hands.
New Gold being gold that you earn that didn't come from someone else.
Right now, when you win a delve, you get between 5 and 10 gold. When someone dies in your dungeon you get between 1 and 5 gold. This is all new gold.
I want to slow down the rate that gold goes into the economy so that I can start using it for more interesting things. I'm thinking that when you win a delve, you'll get 3 new gold, and between 3 and 5 old gold from the dungeon owner. The numbers may vary, but half and half or so. When someone dies in your dungeon then you'll get between 3 and 5 old gold from the person who died. This will keep the money exchanging hands without putting so much new money into the economy.
The only thing gold is used for right now is to buy potions for healing. I'm going to move those potions to real earth money. I'm thinking I'll use gold in money to maybe buy equipment (maybe taking out random loot drops) and either hiring new monsters, or paying the monsters you have, or maybe just to increase the effectiveness of your traps.
